Bridgeport Old Knucklehead Barleywine

Donated by a collector, this bold barleywine was produced by Bridgeport Brewery in Portland (Closed in 2019). Old Knucklehead was brewed every few years (only 17 batches) since the brewery’s opening in 1984

The beer is barrel aged in American White Oak which brings forth vanilla, toffee and rich cherry notes that balance the robust malt sweetness.

1996 and 1997 batches are up for grabs.

Sierra Nevada Bigfoot Barleywine Verticals

Considered to be the grandfather of craft breweries, Sierra Nevada’s popular barleywine Bigfoot has been a favorite by beer aficionados to purchase year after year to cellar and compare in side by side vertical tastings.

For this auction we will have a 2011-2016 set as well as some smaller verticals. Graciously donated by a private collector.

Deschutes Brewery Abyss Vertical

For this auction Deschutes has donated some verticals of their Abyss stout.

Noted for its deep complexity, this barrel-aged stout by Deschutes is clamored for year after year. Notes of molasses and licorice shine in this beer.

Dry Dock Brewing Bligh’s Barleywine Vertical

Described as a balanced beer with the strength of a mutiny, this Barleywine has been a favorite seasonal Dry Dock release.

For the auction a vertical of Bligh’s from 2012-2020 and a bottle of 22.

Fremont B-Bomb Vertical Lot

Graciously donated by a collector, this lot will include a lot of some of Fremont’s most sought bombers. Abominable (now known as B-Bomb) is an imperial winter ale that is aged in 8–12-year-old American Oak bourbon barrels and is a blend of 9, 12, and 24-month old barrel-aged Winter Ale.

The result? One of the most beloved winter releases among beer aficionados.

The winner will get a 3-bomber vertical of 2014-2016

Surley Darkness Vertical (2012-2017)

Graciously donated by a collector, Surley’s The Darkness is a massive Russian Imperial Stout containing waves of chocolate, coffee, cherry, and toffee, plus a non-traditional dose of aromatic hops.

This vertical is a 6-bottle, 6-year collection from 2012-2017

Firestone Walker Parabola Vertical

Dontated by a collector, Firestone Walker’s Parabola is a legendary Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout.

Aged for a year in premium bourbon barrels to gain depth, complexity and intensity, then blended and released in limited quantities. Righteously dark and thick, with boldly balanced flavors of chocolate, charred oak, vanilla, black cherry and coffee.

Years 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2020.

Milieu Fermentation

One of Aurora’s newest breweries is located on Anschutz Campus takes it’s name from the French word Milieu which means a social setting or environment. The brewery also offers other feremented beverages such as hard tea and kombuchas.

For the auction, a lot consisting of the following beer will be offered:

Since 2010 Strange Craft Beer Company has been slinging ales near Mile-High Stadium. Since opening the brewery has won a nice collection of GABF and World Beer Cup awards along with a few other honors.

For the auction, the winner will receive 4 2012 bottles of Strange’s award-winning Barleywine Dr Strangelove, a shirt, and a hat.

A Bit Twisted

Opening in 2021, this brew and BBQ spot has attracted both beer and brisket lovers to Aurora.

For the donation A Bit Twisted has donated:

Located in the small town of Elizabeth Colorado, the Elizabeth Brewing Company is a community-focused brewery with collaborations with the town’s restaurants, services, and festivals.

BV Georges De Latour (Vintages 2009, 2010, 2011)

Georges De Latour is a Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. It’s known for a beautifully expressive nose full of ripe berry fruit aromas of raspberry, red currant, black cherry and black currant, alongside hints of fresh chaparral herbs like wild lavender, violet and rose, fresh mint, sage, bay laurel and juniper berry.

The winning bid will get 3 bottles of Georges De Latour dated 2009, 2010, and 2011.

Westvlettern XII Six-Pack

Ask any beer geek what beer is often considered the best in the world, and most times you’ll get Westvlettern XII as the answer.

This elusive Belgian Quadrupel ale is brewed by the monks of St. Sixtus Abbey and is only available for purchase in the abbey’s neighboring cafe. The scarcity and mistique has made this a highly sought out beer for collectors.

For our auction, a donor has graciously offered a six pack of the famed “Westy 12” for grabs.

Chimay Lineup

Brasserie de Chimay is one of 13 Trappist Breweries located in Chimay, Belgium. Each drop of Chimay’s beers have been brewed since 1862 by the monks of the Scourmont Abbey. Each beer gets a secondary fermentation in the bottle at least 3 weeks before being sold. The winner of this lot will receive:

2 bombers of Chimay Premiere (aka Chimay Red) a 7% ABV Belgian Dubbel 

2 bombers of Chimay Grande Reserve (aka Chimay Blue) a 9% ABV Belgian Dark Strong Ale

2 bombers of Chimay Cinque Cents (aka Chimay White) a 8% ABV Belgian Tripel.

Delirium Lot

Known for their iconic labels of a pink elephant , Brouwerij Huyghe’s Delirium Tremens has been a beloved beer since it was first made in 1988. In the year 2008, the beer even won the title “Best Beer in the World”. 

For the winner of this lot they will receive:

2 4 packs of Delirium Tremens- An 8.5% ABV Belgian Golden Ale

2 Bombers of Delirium Red- A 8% ABV “Dessert beer” with notes of almonds and sour cherries

From sour lambics, devine trappist ales, to spicy and dry saisons, Belgium is a smorgasbord of beer variety and flavors. For this auction lot, the winner will get a taste of some of Belgium’s different styles.

1 bomber Piraat Ale- Produced by  Van Steenberge Brewery near Gent, Belgium, Piraat is a 10.5% ABV Belgian ale known for its big hop and malt flavor with notes of tropical fruit, spices, and mild sweetness.

2 4-packs Saison Dupont- Brewed since 1884 by Brassiere Dupont, Saison Dupont has been considered to be the defining example of a Belgian Saison. Known for it’s frangrances of grapefruit and spice, Saison Dupont is enjoyed with a meal or just as an afternoon sipper after it’s had some time to warm in the glass. 

1 4-pack Duchesse de Bourgogne- This flanders style red ale brewed by Brouwerij Verhaeghe in Victhe, Belgium is matured for 18 months in oak barrels before being mixed with a younger 8 month old ale to create the final product. 

1 bomber Scaldis Prestige- Brewed by Brouwerij Verhaeghe (at 250 years old is the oldest active brewery in Wallonia) Scaldis Prestige is a 13% Belgian Stong Pale ale with notes of whiskey, caramel, and vanilla. (Fun trivia: outside of the USA Scaldis Beer is known and sold as “Bush beer” but due to Busch beer brand sold by Anhauser-Busch they are sold as Scaldis)

Goose Hunting Trip

The winning bidder will receive a two-person hunt, accompanied by Aurora City Brew Club president John Horton, at one of the prestigious properties located within the private membership club of Honker Nation.

This certificate is redeemable during the 2024-2025 hunting season.

Wings Over The Rockies Membership

With 2 locations, Colorado’s Wings Over the Rockies welcomes approximately 160,000 visitors each year.  Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum is located at the former site of Lowry Air Base. Over 100,000 square feet of exhibit space is dedicated to displaying iconic aircraft,  space vehicles, military uniforms, and so much more.  Wings Over the Rockies Exploration of Flight, is located 19 miles south of Denver and offers and immersive, educational experience for those fascinated by flight and a unique perspective for those already in the industry.

The winner of this auction will be taken on a private flight with John Barry (retired USAF Major General with over 5,600 flight hours) aboard a P-2010, Tecnam from the Front Range Airport, over the United States Air Force Academy and back.

Regarded as “The Bob Ross of Beer” award-winning cartoonist and Advanced Circerone Em Sauter has created cartoons and illustrations for publications for beer-focused topics ranging from hop varieties, food & beer pairings, to pairing what beer style matches certain Lord of the Rings characters.
